Rockwell Automation is acquiring Incuity Software, a privately held enterprise manufacturing intelligence (EMI) software company. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. This acquisition fills the EMI holes in Rockwell Automation’s rapidly growing software portfolio. Incuity users, meanwhile, should be pleased with the financial stability and product enhancement potential this acquisition creates. |

While the deal seems relatively innocuous on the surface, it’s one of the first overt signals that Oracle plans to directly compete for the next-generation IT management suite, or what AMR Research calls IT resource planning (ITRP). |
