A Closer Look at IBM’s 2004 Hiring Plans

IBM sent a dose of good news to the financial markets with the disclosure that the company will add nearly 19,000 net new jobs this year.  By the end of December, headcount is expected to reach 333,000 employees, the highest level since the 344,000 reached in 1991.  This represents 3.5% increase from last year.  Even more significant, though, is that this is a 90% increase for plans announced earlier this year.
