| AMEC Technology, formerly AGRA Simons MES, is a system integration group focused on integrating plant-management-level systems. With $7B annual revenue and 50,000 employees, the vendor claims to be the third largest constructor after Bechtel and Fluor. (AMEC Technology was classified as a Zone 2 Integrator in the Report on Manufacturing, "Who Can Integrate My Manufacturing Plant Systems?," December 1998.) AMEC, which has real-time, shop-floor, process control systems capability and resources as a foundation, uses 12 specialized resources to build and integrate MES applications. It has completed 30 MES projects over the last five years and has a number of technology partnerships, including one with the ORSI Group.
