SAP Implementations: Big or Small, Companies Face Common Hurdles

Companies of varying sizes that have implemented SAP products reveal surprising similarities. Two industrial manufacturers that are both well into their SAP rollouts recently shared their stories. One is a $350M organization, with 2,300 employees and 14 locations in North America and one in China. The other has $5B-plus in revenue, with 70 plants worldwide, hundreds of sales/service centers, and more than 20,000 employees. The discussions reiterated the fact that, whether it is a midmarket organization of limited scope or a large, multinational organization, the business complexities, implementation challenges, and resulting lessons learned are essentially the same.
