With all of the major ERP vendors hyping the wonders of service-oriented architecture as the ultimate solution to business flexibility and total cost of ownership, the reaction we get from most of our enterprise applications clients is “SOA what?” SOA’s significance for ERP customers should become clearer this year; but today most users remain skeptical. Will it be technology suited only for vendor developers, or will it be the key to business-driven flexibility and improved cost of ownership?
