Consolidating Data Integration Architectures With Metadata Acquisitions

Vendors are starting to consolidate data integration and enterprise application integration tools to build out SOA frameworks. As they accumulate tools, they find each has a different way of describing data, including where and how it is stored. Several key vendors have made plans for a consolidated metadata framework, including Informatica, IBM, and webMethods.
