Don’t think of Google’s new Chrome as a browser—it’s really an omni-client strategy aimed directly at Microsoft. This is a disruptive maneuver, presaging a serious Google effort to control more of the desktop as well as strengthen and extend its position in the mobile and online-cloud environment.
