People can become much more efficient sensors and actuators when creatively armed with mobility tools and technologies that are intuitive to use. Many manufacturing scenarios can become more responsive by simply arming people with mobile devices and sensors to capture and act on manufacturing data more efficiently, and in a timely manner. Why does MES have to be tied to a workstation, power, and Ethernet cables, or to a process control system? It doesn’t.
