Jeffrey Hojlo, Michael Burkett, Nigel Montgomery
It's really no surprise that the offshoring of global product development (GPD) has become a $13B market. What is a surprise is that companies we surveyed last year still continue to outsource in developing regions despite the inherent risks of security, supplier qualification, low compliance standards, product quality, slow time to market, geopolitical unrest, and lack of regulation. All of these challenges mean opportunity for product innovation vendors to help ensure the right processes and technology are in place. So what can you, the vendor, do to help?

Outsourcing Is Still Not a High Priority for UK Manufacturers
Nigel Montgomery
By 2004, 50% of UK manufacturers will outsource a mere 20% of their IT-budgeted services, disproving market hype that IT outsourcing is a hotbed of activity.
